DADE PHELAN appears to be on a clearer path to becoming Speaker of the Texas House. His final GOP opponent, Geanie Morrison, dropped out of the race for a second time yesterday and endorsed Phelan.
KEN PAXTON, in addition to his other public issues, has been accused of having an extramatrical affair. For some time, animals of the capitol have rumored that the current Attorney General (whose wife Angela is a Senator) was entangled with a capitol staffer.
In a deposition given Monday, Nate Paul, a real estate developer, and Paxton donor disclosed that the woman worked at his company as a project manager.
