Today's stories
SCOTUS handed down a surprising decision yesterday, allowing the admittedly unconstitutional DACA Executive Order by Barack Obama to stand.
It's the second such opinion penned by Chief Justice John Roberts in as many years blocking the Trump administration on a technicality (census citizenship question was the other).
The current and tenuous DACA regime will need to be solved legislatively as multiple suits, including one by Attorney General Ken Paxton, filed in 2018 make their way through the courts.
Sen. John Cornyn stated that lawmakers should act on DACA, affording children brought to the U.S. as children a permanent solution.
Unsurprisingly, the insurance salesman from San Antonio approved of the ruling, suggesting he's okay with unconstitutional orders as long as they are liberal-progressive in nature.
PRESIDENT TRUMP changed the day of his rally in Tulsa to honor the requests of local black leaders (his speech was set initially for Juneteenth), yet he's still being called a racist.
While there is no slaking the thirst of the woke brigade, exercises like this help expose their hypocrisy.
WEED legalization messaging is the Texas lottery part two. Activists, many of whom stand to gain financially or use, are suggesting legalization is a billion-dollar proposition.
An example used to "prove" weed is a billion-dollar cash cow that needs milking is Colorado. Lost in the suggestion is the fact that it took the state five years to make $1B in tax revenue from pot sales.
Legalized weed is no budget savior just like the lottery, sold as a panacea during a budget crunch, has not meaningfully benefited Texans.
One does wonder, how lawmakers will take shills misleading them when it comes to this get rich quick scheme. 🤔
TEXAS SCHOOLS will reopen in the fall. Strangely, teacher's unions and stay-at-hommies are reacting negatively to the announcement.
Maybe the new set up that some of these folks envision is teachers would be paid to talk to kids over a computer for a couple of hours while presumably, a parent watches/teaches the child.
Why not cut out the middleman?
ICYMI here's a quote from Shane Parrish of Farnam Street notoriety:
“I’m struggling with the realization that the education system, at least in elementary school is largely just organized daycare.” Parrish puts it, "the school system is just to keep the kids busy while the parents work.
BETO caught flack from Congressman Dan Crenshaw yesterday for suggesting that low-income workers were being harmed by going back to work.
In all of this keep the state and nation shut down nonsense, Democrats are disproportionately harming minorities.
