On to today’s stories.
MIDLAND ISDs bond election administration has gone from bad to worse. Yesterday, the county began an unofficial manual recount after an 820 variance was discovered between the initial election and the official recount in late November. That margin has increased to 840.
Whatsmore, while moving ballot boxes, a county employee stumbled across a sealed box containing ballots. It’s unclear if these ballots are from the 2019 bond election or 2018, but a court order has been requested to find out.
Regardless, one PAC involved in the election has seen enough and announced it would file suit to have the election invalidated. Several issues have undermined trust in the highly contentious tight margin race.
While Trump needled Democrats, Speaker Pelosi denied she is whipping them. Still, many are bracing for defections when the vote comes.
TEXAS ALLIANCE FOR LIFE testified yesterday to have an infant pulled from life support. It’s just the latest example of the alleged pro-life group working against pro-life advocates. As for the infant, Tinslee Lewis, a judge will decide by January 2 what should be done in the case.
