Today’s Stories
THE NEW YORK TIMES, bless its collective heart, is once again pushing the “turn Texas blue” narrative.
This latest installment comes from a fawning profile of NextGenAmerica’s Texas chapter and their leader, Chistina Tzintun-Ramirez. Tzintun-Ramirez, a political never-was, finished third in the Democrat primary for U.S. Senate in 2020.
Beyond that, the article suggests the Democrats’ strategy is more of the same. Blah, blah, “voter registration.” Blah, blah, “mobilization.” Einstein’s definition of insanity is brought to life every two years.
The one modestly new spin is that “young people” have replaced “people of color” as the objects of Democrats’ desire. Perhaps, but this sounds suspiciously close to the “demographics is destiny” schpiel they’ve been peddling for two decades. At some point, Sideshow Bob, you might want to stop stepping on rakes.
TEXAS is not a battleground state. It hasn’t been one for 25 years. And it is unlikely to be one anytime soon.
The mantrafied misnomer continues even after Democrats failed to take promised ground during the 2020 election cycle and ahead of an election cycle and decade in which they are projected to remain.
A report compiled by the progressive group Way to Win points out why in a comprehensive report that includes an analysis of Texas, voters of color are leaving the Democrat party.
The TL;DR version of the report is demographics aren’t destiny (duh). Also, 2020 was all about Trump for Democrat voters but the GOP agenda for Republican voters. If accurate (it’s likely correct), this is terrible for Democrats moving forward.
This report and the continued decline of the establishment GOP suggests despite Speaker Dade Phelan’s best efforts to draw House maps beneficial to Democrats, going forward, their prospects are as bleak as ever.
One indicator of the overall health of the Democrat party in Texas and at the national level is their leadership grooming.
Why, if they are strong in Texas, is there not a Democrat candidate announced for Governor?
Over the summer, the nation was subjected to the bottom-of-the-barrel caliber officeholders the Democrats have in the House, but the national crew isn’t that impressive either.
AOC, arguably the future of the Democrats, offered up a buffet’s worth of word salad when asked about her present vote on the Iron Dome. Or the number two and future first groupie turned President not being able to suppress nervous laughter regularly.
These are simple items.

JAMES TALARICO is moving to Travis county from Williamson to remain a member of the House.
The boyish sophomore Democrat was blue waved into a Texas house seat in 2018. While in office, Talarico’s primary accomplishment seems to have been drawing ridicule from retired Major League Baseball superstar Lenny Dykstra.
In contrast to the Dykstra shout out, Talarico touted a list of endorsements illustrative of a point made in the previous section on Democrat weakness in Texas:
Beto - Two-time (three if you count HD28) loser
Wendy - Three-time loser
Castro - Abandoned TX prospects
Hegar - Loser
Adler - Loser, in Austin! (Prop B)
You can see the complete list here. There are other losers featured alongside a perpetually stagnated class of politicos.

WORKERS quit their jobs in record numbers, according to an August jobs report released on Monday.
There’s not a ton of clarity as to why this is the case, but multiple liberal media outlets are in part attributing the quits to fear of COVID. As it turns out, driving half your population insane with fear is terrible for the job market.
This isn’t the only cause for the decline; rage from both virulent pro-mask and anti-mask factions leads to hyper aggression aimed at staff in a wide range of industries.
A state-by-state analysis of this data will be needed to judge the lagging effects of extended vs. unextended unemployment benefits but this is all going wrong for the powers that be trying to play god.
