Today's stories
DEMOCRATS continue to reveal they don't have an inside track on 2020, 76 days ahead of the November election.
In Texas, after failed lawfare to expand mail-in balloting, Democrats scored a win yesterday to disenfranchise third-party candidates. Every little bit helps, I guess.
Meanwhile, The People's Republic of Austin has given the Texas GOP a gift by defunding the police. Chaos from ANTIFA under cover of rioting for racial justice is chipping away at the suburb vote Democrats have been courting and counting on since 2018.
Did you notice that BLM imagery absent from the Democrat’s National Convention? ANTIFA violence, largely ignored by the mainstream media, excused in the past, continues, and it's a liability.
Democrats can lay no claim to being the party of the order, but they are trying to by labeling Trump the chaos candidate. The policies Democrats have advocated for in 2020 are chaos masked as order.
Calling for a complete shut down of the economy, to tank it, and increase the odds of beating Trump, is chaos. Calling for a complete overhaul of how elections are run by flooding the system with mail-in balloting is chaos.
Defunding the police, chaos, and not popular in the suburbs.
SENATE DISTRICT 30 has been thrown into limbo by current Senator Pat Fallon, who a couple of weeks back won a spot on the November ballot in Congressional District 4.
Dueling radio appearances in the past week featuring Fallon, outgoing Rep. Jonathan Stickland, and hair salon owner turned political player, Shelley Luther has kept speculation about who will run and when the race will happen on the front burner.
A full list of contestants will come into view soon, but with nearing 100% certainty current State Rep. Drew Springer will throw his hat in the ring and social media posts suggest Fallon is backing that bid.
Fallon, in a Facebook post yesterday, said he's working with the Governor on when to resign his Senate seat. Maybe, but whether or not Fallon's being honest, the election is likely to happen after his pal (Springer) wins re-election to the House; that way, if Springer loses his Senate bid, he'll be able to slink back to his old job.
It's a manipulative move to help a crony, one that can't be passed off as prudent since CD4 is a safe Republican Congressional seat.
Fun fact, this is the third office Fallon has sought in four years (House '16, Senate '18, Congress '20). Fallon, characterized as a lunk (translation: low IQ misogynist) by Charles Kuffner, contemplated but bailed on a run against Sen. John Cornyn, likey a wife decision.
This is the second time Fallon's left office early in his political career after abandoning a Frisco City Council seat before his term was up to run for Texas House.
VIOLENT CRIME is a theme that could play well for the Trump campaign in Texas and elsewhere. Turns out, homicides, and other violent crimes are spiking (1 | 2 | 3) starting to clime during the COVID lockdowns.
Suggesting COVID is responsible like it's a bath salt, is silly spin from outlets like the Houston Chronicle.
More likely and logical is that needlessly draconian lockdowns drove unrest to kick off the violence, then it married up with anti-American fomenting. Add a dash anti-police rhetoric, and you get to current levels.
