LEGALIZING drugs or expanding gambling will not save the Texas budget, and it could cost Texas Republicans in any future election where it would be featured on the ballot.
In 2020, Arizona featured a legalization proposition, cash, and the element motivated to vote harmed Republican candidates. Nevada showed a similar set of circumstances in 2016.
Still, the left is ramping up its PR efforts.
LYLE LARSON is pushing for Texas to have a 70-day annual legislative session. Part of his reasoning includes lamenting that lawmakers weren’t able to follow Rahm Emanuel’s mantra, “never let a crisis go to waste,” to enact gun regulations following recent shootings.
It’ll be a hard sell since most Texans don’t want to be run like D.C or California.
