ERCOT is advising electricity generators to forego planned maintenance and for those already performing maintenance to get back online this weekend to ensure there aren’t outages.
While temperatures are expected to be unseasonably high, outages aren’t anticipated. Novel idea, Texas’ electric generation scheme should be resilient to swings in weather and cyber attacks.
ERIC JOHNSON, the mayor of Dallas, wants another NFL team in his city.


Two observations:
Johnson’s plea is almost certainly a real estate boondoggle.
Tell us the Cowboys have been terrible for a quarter-century without telling us the Cowboys have been terrible for a quarter-century.

AUSTIN votes to spend $1 million on a so-called “guaranteed income program.” The so-called ‘pilot program’ will provide $1000 per month to 85 households selected by city hall.
This program is illegal under state law and will never see the light of day. Lawsuits are likely to emerge.
Meanwhile, in other developments from yesterday’s city council meeting.
Noticeably absent from the meeting were Mackenzie Kelly and Leslie Pool.

TEXAS DEMOCRATS hope Roe v. Wade repeal will energize their voters ahead of the midterms. Maybe it will be less dead than 2022 would have otherwise been but there simply aren’t enough pro-abortion voters in Texas for it to matter.
CAMPAIGN SIGN THEFT is en vogue this year. Note to would-be thieves, stealing signs from cops is an unwise decision.
