Today’s stories
DAN PATRICK appears to finally be getting amped for the session.
Last week the Lt. Governor joined a committee hearing to question a witness, not normal behavior.
Then, on Friday, Patrick got into a press release tit-for-tat with Governor Abbott about energy over-charges that have now been revised down from $16 billion to just over $3 billion.
This tension continued at a public appearance where both men were featured speakers.
Maybe the memo went out that 2022 is an election year, and it’s going to be a dogfight. Regardless, more action like this is good for political watchers and the public writ large.
JOURNALISTS (most of them) have reduced themselves to court jester status. Guys, we’re laughing at you, not with you.
In their latest collective clown act, several are cracking Governor Abbott for suggesting H.R. 1 could lead to greater election fraud and the purchasing of votes.
To illustrate how paying for mail-in votes can work, Abbott cites a prosecuted fraud case where votes were purchased with cocaine.
It’s unclear if these folks are aware, but this has actually happened.
