Today's stories
KEN PAXTON has asked the Texas Supreme Court to stop several counties from illegally expanding voting by mail.
Currently, a handful of Texas election administrators are encouraging and allowing healthy individuals to register as disabled if they fear leaving home on election day due to the China virus.
Liberal activists seem sure the court will rule against them, so they're complaining the justices up for election will not be impartial.
Regardless of the ruling, remember there is no truth to the oft-repeated claim that voting in person exposes voters to a disproportionate risk of contracting the novel virus. Also not true is the notion that lawmakers envisioned the law, limited in it's crafting, expanding to universal balloting by mail in a pandemic situation.
GREG ABBOTT, when asked about a letter Attorney General Ken Paxton's office sent to local governments warning against draconian orders, Abbott said he hadn't seen it and then went on to describe the letter's aim succinctly.
It's classic Abbott. The guy is constantly feigning ignorance (playing brain dead) on hot potato current events.
MICHAEL FLYNN was pursued and pressured into pleading guilty as part of what many are calling Obamagate. Now, he's being harassed by a Judge playing prosecutor.
Last week the U.S. Justice Department dropped charges against Gen. Flynn after it was revealed there was no basis for questioning the former Trump ally and appointee in connection to the now-defunct Russiagate conspiracy.
In cases where there is no side to argue a position, judges will sometimes appoint a proxy to assume the duties and wrap up the case. In the case of Flynn, the judge is going above and beyond by asking that Flynn be investigated for perjury after entering a guilty plea he was coerced into giving.
SEN. LOIS KOLKHORST is catching flack on social media for suggesting we open schools and go to football games come the fall.
As non-bed-wetters move away from lockdown as a sustainable model, the term and idea of viral load will become more prevalent.
In a nutshell, viral load is the amount of virus transmitted from an infected person that could be picked up by a healthy individual infecting them with the virus. Amount matters and is impacted by setting.
A higher viral load or initial dose will be more difficult for the body to fight and is typically associated with worse outcomes.
Where does the virus perform well? Indoor confined spaces.
In a world where a vaccine doesn't exist, and unending lockdown to the detriment of mental health and material well being has to end, contracting the virus by going out to a football game or park is preferable to most other environments.
