DEMOCRATS are trending towards a return to their racist roots, this time with Hispanics (and, to a lesser degree, Asians) as their target.
At immediate issue was an article written by a blogger with a thinly disguised pay-to-play relationship with Democrat Congressman Vicente Gonzalez.
The article disparaged newly elected Republican Congresswoman Mayra Flores as “Miss Frijoles.” Flores and Gonzalez are facing each other in a redrawn district this fall.
To this point, Gonzalez would have been considered the favorite. Attacks of this nature, however, suggest Gonzalez has seen polling he doesn’t like. It’s certainly not a sign of confidence from an incumbent congressman.
While on the subject, check out this gem from Gonzalez from shortly after Flores’ election: “I wasn't born in Mexico…I didn't come here through chain migration; I didn't come through asylum or amnesty or whatever.”
But this isn’t about the slings and arrows of one congressional district. At least, not really.
It’s about what that congressional district tells us about the Democrat reaction to losing a community to which they have felt entitled. It ain’t pretty.
We suspect, furthermore, that this is only the beginning.
It’s an emotional defense mechanism.
Hispanics, regardless of country of origin, have rejected green/woke lunacy. Furthermore, they’ve always been more conservative than many realized.

Democrats will have to rationalize this failure to protect their sense of self-worth.
It’s likely, that comments like “tacos” and “frijoles” will be tame compared to what comes before, too much longer.

It’s not particularly relevant to Texas (outside of pockets in Houston and Dallas), but a similar dynamic has emerged towards Asians in places like New York and San Francisco.
Speaking of New York, see next item.
ERIC ADAMS, Mayor of the aforementioned New York City, is requesting federal help as an influx of alleged “asylum seekers” threaten the city’s shelter system.
For the crisis to have reached that far to the North and East illustrates its depth.
TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY will be offering a course in “Harry Styles” (whatever that is).
There’s a lot you can say about this. None of it is good. Suffice to say; Republicans have controlled state government for two decades.
