LT. GOVERNOR PATRICK yesterday drove a stake through the heart of goofy grift proposals (gambling expansion, legalized weed) floated ahead of the legislative session.
In a radio interview, Patrick said gambling expansion, “it’s not even an issue that’s going to see the light of day this session.”
This was a long forseen likelihood given the avoidance inclination of current statewide lawmakers and where we are on the political calendar.

SEN. CHARLES SCHWARTNER is right. Pension systems administered by the state are broken, and calls for phasing them out on a going forward basis are growing.
