In a terrible twist of fate, those most at risk from contracting the coronavirus, already quarantined (but not safe) are dying of loneliness.
The lion’s share of deaths attributed to COVID19 have occurred in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Now, according to the Wall Street Journal:
Since mid-March, visitation has been prohibited & it's taking a toll on residents, families, and long-term care providers. We can reunite loved ones safely. The blanket ban must end.
Meanwhile, hyperbole surrounding healthcare resources on the Texas-Mexico border is escalating. Strain on healthcare providers in that region of the state has been exacerbated by Mexican nationals seeking care in the U.S.
