Today's stories
GREG ABBOTT is making election moves.
Yesterday the Governor flanked by the current Lt. Governor and lame-duck Speaker announced cities that defund police will face a property tax revenue freeze.
From a political perspective, the move makes total sense. From a public policy perspective, it's perplexing, especially coming from a "conservative" elected official.
Off the rails, property tax revenue needs to stop, period.
Abbott's pronouncement, like most of his "plans," is light on specifics, but it’s more likely that details won’t be needed. First, outside of Austin, defunding police isn’t a thing. Second, in 2017, Abbott and Dan Patrick didn’t deploy a similar solution to shut down sanctuary cities.
RUSSIA didn't impact the 2016 election, and they aren't going to influence the 2020 election, despite establishment posturing.
Foreign interference will never come close to equaling election meddling by the media (including the social variant).
The ongoing social desirability campaign the ruling class (Democrats & Republicans) have been running since 2016 isn’t working, they’re losing the stranglehold on thought in America.
DEMOCRATS rolling out GOP heavy-hitters (sarcasm) like John McCain's widow, Colin Powell, and John Kasich is a good indicator they're worried about November. Why work to siphon votes from Trump's base if you're going to win the election walking away?
